The African American Arts & Heritage Academy brings in different guest performers during the week of camp to help motivate the students while they work on their showcase performance, scheduled for this Saturday at 1PM at the Gladys G Davis theatre in the Creative Art Center on Evansdale campus WVU. This is Denise Battle, a student at West Virginia University who is training to become a professional opera singer. The students loved Ms. Battle, and asked her many questions after her performance. One of our goals for the Academy is to inspire artists to be proactive with their craft and I think the academy did reach that goal with Denise’s performance.
