PopShopWV: Morgantown’s House of Rock

I’m a part of an Arts summer camp called the African American Arts & Heritage Academy. I was once a student, counselor, instructor and now I serve as an administrator and as creative director (I’m a big supporter of getting the youth involved with the arts). So once I found out about “PopShopWV” here in Morgantown, I needed to check it out. A good friend (and an artist that I respect), Scott Simon introduced me to Chris Russell who runs PopShop. Come to find out, I already knew Chris from his days when him and Scott played with a local group called The Argument. I did a couple of shows with them in the early 2000s with my band (304 Reconz).

Music 2 Your Ears Production: Morgantown Music Promoter

I first met Adam Payne back in 2001, he was throwing a house party on Grant Ave. He gutted out a house and kept half of the second floor as a stage, I should of known then he was a born music promoter, with a vision. Adam was also very heavy in the music then, he was in a group called the Whiskey Dicks, my band (304 Reconz) played a few shows with them, and it started a long, great relationship. A few years ago Adam created a local promotion company to service the Morgantown area, and since then he has brought great entertainment to the area. Check out the video below as Adam talks about his company and upcoming events.

Morgantown WV Farmers Market “Sickler Farms”

I absolutely love the Morgantown Farmers Market, great people, great food, and a great environment for the family on a Saturday morning. All different types of vendors, and the food they had grown and cultivated. The story of each vendor are usually very interesting tales. Like Jeff Sickler of “Sickler Farms”, he was extremely nice and informative of his food products and his background, I had a great time talking to him and telling me about “Sickler Farms” http://www.sicklerfarm.com If you have free time on a Saturday make sure you go checkout the Morgantown Farmers Market!
